Retreat Details
Over the first four days, you’ll get settled in Dahab, a beautiful bohemian town surrounded by sea and mountains, also known as the capital of freediving due to its easy depth access.
We’ll teach you the AIDA 2 freediving course, which includes theory, pool and open water sessions. You’ll dive with us in small groups of maximum 3 students to one instructor. Your comfort and safety is our main priority. We teach the course in a way that focuses on fun and flow, not pressure to achieve.
The days are filled with activities that aren’t just about freediving! Think padel, yoga, games nights, beach days and local food.
The last two full days of the retreat, we head to Ras Mohammed national park. Camping in our cosy canvas tents, just steps from the shoreline where an incredible reef is waiting to be discovered. This part of the trip is about relaxing, hanging out and enjoying putting what you’ve learnt into practice, to discover marine life, freediving on the reef.

Freediving is often misunderstood. Instead of pushing hard, it's about learning to be calm and trusting your body to do what it is naturally capable of.
Over three days you'll complete the AIDA 2 freediving course (usually valued at £350 and included in your retreat). You'll learn to dive safely, hopefully between 12-20m, understand your body, and build proper technique from the start. We introduce things gradually across the week, so there's no rush.
This is a beginner course, no prior experience required. -
Line diving technique and how to descend efficiently
Equalisation technique
Breath hold methods and tips, hold your breath for 2 minutes +
Nervous system tools to stay calm underwater
How to train your breath and body
How to duck dive and explore marine life safely in a natural setting
Safety and rescue procedures, so you can always dive safe with a qualifed buddy
We dive from the Lighthouse in Dahab, just a short swim from shore. By the end of the week, if you meet the requirements, you'll be certified as an AIDA 2 freediver.
If freediving feels intense at any point, there's no pressure. There are plenty of other ways to enjoy the week.
-
Midweek, after the course we head to Ras Mohammed National Park, widely considered one of the most spectacular marine reserves in the world, home to over 200 species of coral and around 1,000 species of fish.
2 days | 1 night at Ras Mohammed
We sleep at a beachfront desert camp in comfy canvas tents under a clear starry sky, sit around the campfire at night, wake up to the sunrise and snorkel over coral gardens filled with fish, rays, turtles and barracuda.
This part of the trip is about slowing down and disconnecting: reading on the beach, exploring the mountains at sunset, swimming at sunrise, cooking s'mores by the campfire. We'll offer optional morning Qi Gong, stretching and breathwork sessions, and creative workshops if you feel like joining. All meals and water are included at camp.
-
Alongside the freediving, the week is built around shared experience. We eat local meals together, hike into the mountains at sunset, yoga, snorkel and explore, and disconnect from our busy lives. You’ll also have pockets of free time to do as you choose.
We pride ourselves on creating a social, inclusive atmosphere, and people leave with new friends for life.
-
We're looking for open-minded, curious people who want to try something new, meet like-minded people and spend a week by the sea.
This trip is for you if you:
are curious about freediving but have never tried it
feel a bit nervous about holding your breath, and want to learn in a calm, safe setting
love being in the water and discovering marine life

Our passion for freedving, shines through in our inclusive, positive and fun approach to teaching. We’re not
exclusive, elitist or about pushing too far. Instead we focus on nervous system state, regulation, psychology and safety in our sessions, it should be fun and not a struggle!
Our AIDA courses follow the usual format, but we try to weave more fun and play into the learning. Think pool games, underwater group photos and things that make it more than just learning the course material.
We want to help people discover the best version of themselves and experience beautiful moments that are once in a lifetime, we’d love you to be one of them. -

About your hosts
Immy & Joe, Flow State Freediving
Certified AIDA freediving instructors and retreat facilitators
We teach freediving because we believe it's one of the best ways to explore the ocean. We’re not about chasing depth and numbers, and more focused on that flow state feeling you can experience when you’re at one with the water and yourself.
We’ve spent a lot of time in Dahab, and consider it our second home, bringing people here, to show our favourite spots is really special to us, especially as Dahab is also where we completed our Instructor course. It’s the perfect spot for beginners, and we can’t wait to introduce you to the wondrous underwater world of the Red Sea - prepare to have your mind blown!

There are few camping destinations as spectacular and peaceful as Ras Mohammed.

The Red Sea coast, where we're based, is well-established as a tourist destination and has been for decades. Sharm el Sheikh and Dahab are well-visited areas. We wouldn't run trips here if we had concerns, and the area is not affected by the war. That said, we always recommend taking out comprehensive travel insurance at booking.
-
Our trips and depostis are non-refundable, no matter the circumstances. We recommend you purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking.

Its normal to feel nervous about new experiences, but don’t let that stop you! If you’d like to chat more about the trip you can book a free call with us, or contact us on IG or email.
Retreat Guests Testimonials
“Your teaching styles were great. You explained the theory well and with plenty of practical examples to explain the more technical theories. You both showed a great level of care to everyone on the course and one thing that stood out to me was the willingness to learn how people like to learn and adapting to each person.”
Emily, Dahab Retreat Guest
“Wonderful people with so much love in your hearts, and that really bring the best out of us. I can’t thank you enough for this wonderful week. I am not a group person normally but I felt so comfortable and at ease within this group. I think the love you have to free diving, to each other, to the island and to ocean, and to life is really palpable and that’s what made this retreat special.”
Xu, Azores Retreat Guest
“Looking back now I think the main thing that stays with me is the love for this group of people, all the laughs we shared (and a few tears in the end), the meals together, the boat rides, yoga in the morning + music in the evening, just the whole vibe and having all the adventures together. My favorite memory is a mix of all this, with this group of people. It's difficult to put into words, let alone English ones!”
